How do product variants work?
Updated 2026-10-10
Variants are the options on a listing, such as size or supplier SKUs, when the product form includes them.
What to do
- Edit the product and open its options or variants.
- Set the price and stock for each variant you actually sell.
- Save and check the product page as a buyer would.
Eligibility
Only variants you save can be purchased. Imported supplier products keep the supplier’s variant mapping so stock sync can update them.
If something goes wrong
- If a variant is missing at checkout, it was not saved or has no stock.
- Changing a supplier variant by hand can break stock sync. Edit selling details, not the supplier identity, unless you know they must change.
See inventory management if a variant shows as unavailable.
