How do recordings and replays work?

Recording starts only when the host starts it and the recording service accepts the session. A replay exists after that recording finishes and is stored.

What to do

1. In the live room, start recording if the control is available.
2. Stay connected. A room that is not ready will not record.
3. Wait until the recording status finishes before you expect a replay file.

Eligibility

Starting the control is not proof the file exists. Jimvio does not record every stream automatically, and a failed egress does not create a replay.

If something goes wrong

• If the control is missing, recording is not available in that room.
• Do not assume a replay is public until you can open it.

If status stays failed, ticket the session time without sending access keys.
